AFOY Youth & Parent Advocacy Support
Anything For Our Youth Group, Inc. strongly support and believe that every child has the rights to be the best citizen they can possibly be, through growth, education, mentorship, support and engagement in their daily lives We also work to assure that diversity, equity, and inclusion is a priority for all youth in our community to assure that they have a fair opportunity to succeed and be their best throughout their lives!
Our program advocates for health, education, employment, and human rights for our youth. Our advocacy team work directly with children and their parents/guardians to make sure that their wishes and feelings are heard. Our focus is to support and stand with our youth to assure that they have their voices heard.
Our support include partnership with youth and their parents by attending meetings with them, speaking to service-providers on their behalf, helping them to navigate complex systems as well as helping them to access legal support and other specialist services they may need.
*AFOY Team members are (CIT) Crisis Intervention Team certified. AFOY Team members are certified in Mental Health First Aid
A Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) is a self-initiated community partnership between local law enforcement, county health services, mental health advocates, and mental health consumers. It is designed to address the needs of mental health consumers who enter the judicial system during a crisis state
